We are a non-denominational church. We believe that God the Father is one in essence (being) with the Son and the Holy Spirit.
LAKESIDE COMMUNITY CHURCH BELIEVES …
1 In the eternally existing Holy Trinity: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit
2 In the Bible, as the fully inspired Word of God, the only infallible rule for faith and practice.
3 In God the Father who concerns Himself mercifully in the affairs of man.
4 In Jesus Christ, God’s only begotten Son – in His virgin birth, sinless life
miracles, teachings, His atoning death, resurrection, ascension into Heaven, and promise of His return to Earth.
5 In the Holy Spirit and His present ministry of rebirth and
renewal as well as the working of spiritual gifts
6 That all people are sinners and yet made in the image of God. Only repentance and belief in Christ can restore us into fellowship with God.
7 In the Church worldwide, the living spiritual body, of which Christ is the Head and all regenerated persons are members.
8 In the encouragement of partaking in the ordinances of
Water Baptism and Communion, however, it’s
not a requirement to be or become a member.
9 In the personal, visible return of Christ to Earth
and the consummation of His
Kingdom.
10 In what is termed “The Apostle's Creed” as
embodying the fundamental facts of the Christian faith.
We believe the 39 books of the Old Testament and the 27 books of the New Testament make up the entirety of the 66 books in the Bible. The Scriptures and the Scriptures alone are the authority for what we believe. We believe all Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness (2 Tim. 3:16). We believe that the Holy Spirit superintended all writings of Scripture (2 Pet. 1:20). We affirm the miracles of the Bible and believe, “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work (2 Tim. 3:16,17).” The Scriptures should be understood through the guidance of the Holy Spirit for our everyday faith and practice.
Vision, Purpose, and Mission Statement
The Great Commandment:
“You shall love the LORD with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets”
~ Jesus (Matthew 22:37-40)
The Great Commission:
“Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.’ Amen.”
~ Jesus (Matthew 28:19-20)
VISION STATEMENT
OUR VISION: is to see each person reached with the Gospel of Christ and living their lives for Him…, I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless, I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. (Gal. 2:20 KJV)
PURPOSE STATEMENT
OUR PURPOSE: is to glorify God through the transforming of lives into Christ-likeness. This is accomplished by the Holy Spirit as we lovingly function in church body life: worshipping God; loving the people, reaching the lost; teaching God’s Word and discipling His people to the fullness of Christian maturity.
MISSION STATEMENT
OUR MISSION: is to evangelize and disciple the people of our community and the world through a loving, Christ-centered church; reaching, teaching, and encouraging each person to the fullness of Christian maturity.
